Thank youI am so grateful to so many people to be here today, being able to live as normal a life as possible, and to live that life to the fullest.
I wrote Gerry and Her Pacemakers, for all that helped me get me, where I am today. |
What's it all about?I have shared my family's and life experiences and our own mad hatter’s tea parties growing up with heart problems. How my heart problem affected our family in different ways, tips, and things my family and I have learnt, wish we knew and mistakes we made along the way.
Writing over lock down was a terrible idea however I am glad to have written it, as this book is something I had been meaning to do for years. Why I wrote Gerry and the Pacemakers? After meeting a few remarkable families who asked me similar questions, I thought it was time to answer them publicly. I wanted all families affected by heart problems to be equipped with this knowledge, to feel an element of control in this moment and to know they are not alone. I hope this will be helpful to anyone who reads it. I may not know your exact stories and paths, but I understand how hard the journey can be. I wish you all the strength to keep going no matter how hard, the tools to find humour where there is none and enjoy all the good moments together for as long as you can x
