‘I have laughed out loud, as well as cried out my contact lenses, it is simply incredible.’ A. Burridge
‘If you wish to get your child baptised, I would do it soon.’
It is never easy to find out your child is unwell, and even harderto be told that, more than likely, they will not survive.
In 1987, Gerry was the one in every 145 babies born in the UKwith congenital heart disease. Some would say she was lucky, others would say quite the opposite. But after six open heart surgeries, threepacemakers and countless other smaller surgical procedures, she is still here.
Gerry and Her Pacemakers tells the true story of Gerry and her family’s life from her first diagnosis to her life today. It shares the things learned along the way that they wish they had known at the time, and offers advice to make life just a little more bearable. In Gerry’s own refreshingly candid and optimistic words, this book is an indispensable guide to living with heart problems. She knows she cannot remove the pain any family is going through, but in this insightful and moving account, she shows that you are not alone.
COMING SOON! Paced Fun Series Children activity books & family fun
This book series was created for children like me, who due to congenital heart disease did not have as much energy as my peers growing up. I was often unwell and so had to be indoors rather than out and had to choose calmer activities over very energetic ones ...but above all, I love tabletop (and some not on tabletop) games of any kind and playing as a family!
I am also offering an annual prizmee for the family or individual with the best picture and caption sent to me via instagram (T&C's below).
I very much looks forward to receiving the entries ☺️ and hopes you have fun making them!
T&C: To win: simply tag and follow @gerryshepherdwrites on instagram. The time frame to enter per year is the first and last day of the year. Best picture and caption will win family related fun.
